I agree completly, JJ is such a jerk off.

I saw the movie tonight and found myself really irritated by that way that at the end there is no explanation for this monster, they dont tell you where it came from, what it was, whether it got killed, how many there were etc etc etc, the damn film just ends like the bloody blair witch project does: With a pain in the stomach (motion sickness) and a confused look on your face.

I think that JJ's style is really short sighted, for example: Lost is going to end and nobody will really care a week later and nobody would ever want to see this movie twice. When you compare it to all the movies that seem to go on like endless series (though they all have thier own faults too) and the TV shows that have been on the air for years and years, his work, which is supposed to be so good is just shit.

This essay was good. I really liked how clearly it was laid out. Yet I believe you need more focus on actual scenes within the films to back up your assumptions. I think at times the essay was slightly vague, focusing more on explaining the storyline rather than its effect. I think adding personal comments to your essay such as, 'Although from personal experience, black helmets can make for an uncomfortable ride.' This makes your work too personalised and makes it sound less scholarly, although this is the effect you may have wanted. I'm not sure. Overall I think there were keys moments on each film which you could have explored in more depth.

It's been ages since I've seen season 5, and the irony, repeats of it just started on SciFi TV in Australia. Well thanks for correcting my ignorance, but hey you know what that means? Stargate Sg-1 had better continuity through 5 seasons than Voyager had through 5 episodes.

In regards to: "In my opinion instead of just abandoning it they should have had it so the frost only happens for your first 10 trips by which time you’ve acclimated to gate travel, which would explain why Apophis and his Serpent Guards do not have frost on them when they arrive on Earth."

In Stargate mythology, the reason for frost with the SGC Gate is because they're NOT using a DHD to dial the gate. This is explained in season five's "Red Sky."

In real life, the process USED to simulate the frost in '97 was painful to the actors and that's why it was discontinued. They since learned to use a process of spraying on warm liquid parafin, which was used in "Red Sky."

I saw that you can get a stylus for a buck or two on eBay, but you know what? A toothpick would work. I control my 110 with my fingernail sometimes, just when I need to use the page up/down arrows. It's really not that big of a deal.

There are plenty of Newtons out there for sale, and plenty with a stylus. And it make cost you $10-100 for one.

Lots of luck, though, Newtons are fun just to play around with the handwriting recognition.
